We are at your service. Please review the following common questions that most candidates have when applying to become an AKE Sales Representative. If you still have questions, please contact us.

No. Our sales representatives carry product, but AKE trusts you with this inventory. We also give you the means to collect payment during your time with the customer. Demonstration kits are also provided. Showing the customer how our products work is a key piece to your sales presentation.

We assign all sales representatives to a protected territory.  This area is based on your physical location.  Typically, a new rep will initially be given a 5 to 8 county area to work within.  As you grow in the position, your territory will grow with you. Although you are traveling close to home, you still need to be prepared to do a lot of driving! This position requires an in-person, educational sale.

We provide both classroom and field training during your first few weeks with us to ensure you are getting the necessary information as quickly as possible.  As with any new position that you may take on during your professional career, it takes time to feel completely comfortable in that role.  However, we can’t teach you EVERYTHING, so we do expect that if you choose to move forward with this position, that you are fully dedicated and will do whatever it takes to succeed!

We do sell in many different industries, but agriculture is our niche and who we choose to do most of our business with.  Check out the following link to learn more:

No.  This is a 1099, independent contractor position.

As a 1099 position, we give you the opportunity to truly build your own book of business mainly through cold calling and referrals. Get creative!  Leads and existing customer lists are provided to our top reps, but this does not come right away. No farm in America should be without STOP-FYRE®!

Our human resources team will review your application and resume to determine next steps.  If you are chosen to move forward to the next step in our selection process, you will be contacted via email or phone about how to set up a phone interview.  Following a phone interview, we will invite a select few to meet us for an in-person interview with your future sales supervisor.

We believe this is the only way to get a true picture of our company and position. We need to fit your values and expectations just as much as you fit ours. If the interview goes well, you do stay for one additional day to kick off your career with some training! Seeing our facility and meeting our staff is something that can only be experienced by actually visiting our AKE headquarters. Expect to be in our office for two very full days! We will be giving you a lot of information during your time here.

Training will include both classroom and field training at HQ and in your territory.

Yes!  We will always look to promote from within for future positions that may become available; some are W2 based, some are 1099. Most W2 positions are based at our HQ in Minnesota, but our top 1099 sales reps also have the opportunity to become a mentor for your regional team and have the chance to earn an even more lucrative compensation structure.

You can either choose to go 100% commission from day one, or choose a 12-week base + commission structure.  We pay all commissions on a bi-weekly schedule.
